Diary of a Wimpy Kid; Rodrick Rules by Jeff Kinney

In this book from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, Greg tells about all of his problems with his older brother, Rodrick. They are always fighting, like most brothers. Greg also has a younger brother, Manny. His best friend is Rowley. In this book, Greg enters his rock band the Loded Diper in the local talent contest. He gets Mom to videotape the performance so he can get a recording contract, but Mom starts dancing during the performance and ends up on YouTube. Rodrick finally tells Greg's secret. While he was staying with Grandpa at Leisure Towers, he accidentally went to the wrong bathroom and ended up stuck in the ladies room for an hour and a half. Everything works out okay because the rumor gets around that it was a girls locker room at the High School and all the kids think he's a hero. Not much story here, but the kids love the cartoon pictures and the easy reading. Great for reluctant readers.
