Eragon by Christopher Paolini

Even if you don't like fantasy, you will enjoy Eragon. I'm not a fantasy lover, but this was a great book. It has adventure, romance, mystery, and of course fantasy. Eragon is a young man who finds a dragon egg. The egg hatches and he names the dragon, Saphira. Brom, an old magician, teaches the boy magic and he discovers he is a dragonrider. He joins Murtagh, another young man, and together they find an elf, and save a kingdom. The book is long (500 pages) but it reads quickly and keeps you going, there is no lull from beginning to end. Those of you who like the Harry Potter books will especially like Eragon. The sequel is Eldest. Both were written by Christopher Paolini when he was in high school. Wow!
